John C. Smith
I've been in radio since 1983, the year I graduated from Michigan State, working in Lansing, Cadillac, Big Rapids and now Grand Rapids. I've been with Clear Channel since early 2000, working first as morning news anchor on WCUZ-FM, and joining the WOOD anchoring staff in April of that year.
I enjoy the variety of interview and broadcast opportunities this job offers, having talked with Gerald Ford and meeting Ernie Harwell, covering the Tigers in the World Series and describing the Fifth/Third River bank run for WOOD.
John and his wife Mary Jo have 2 sons, Nathan and Izaak.
