Thanks to new license plate readers, the Lowell Police Department was able to make two arrests following a chase across several West Michigan counties.
On April 10th, a car was stolen and led to a chase through multiple counties. Thanks for the license plate readers that are positioned to see the backs of vehicles as they drive past, police were able to find the man and woman who stole the car and arrest them.
Despite concerns raised about privacy, the department says given its small size, such things like license plate readers are essential to help them make a bigger impact within the community.
