Police investigate tips about possible sexual activity at massage parlor

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says no arrests have been made yet, but its detectives are investigating reports of possible sexual assault and prostitution at the Rong Massage parlor in Holland Township.

Capt. Jake Sparks tells WOOD Radio a complaint of inappropriate sexual conduct during a massage was reported in July.

"Since then, we've been looking into it and conducting some investigations there. And several additional tips have come in and people have come forward about being touched inappropriately while receiving a massage there. Or, other tips that people were going in there to receive sex acts in exchange for money," Sparks said.

Sheriff's detectives were assisted by the F-B-I Webchex Task Force (West Michigan Based Child Exploitation) in conducting a search of the business on Wednesday for evidence. Rong Massage is located at 671 Douglas Ave., near Division Street.

Sparks says investigators want to make sure there were no ties to human trafficking going on. Detectives have also consulted with the I-R-S to see if there are any tax-related implications.
