The Grand Rapids Fire Department is holding their first youth academy since COVID.
High school students are learning what it takes to be a firefighter at the academy.
The program teaches students the physical as well as technical parts of the job.
Students are crawling through smoke filled hallways, working hoses filled with water and are learning CPR.
