Cascade Firefighters connecting with public during move

Cascade Township firefighters are moving into their temporary home at the Gerald R. Ford Airport while their old firehouse is torn down to make room for a new one.

Captain Todd Stevenson says the move has made them a minute and a half out of their normal range.

Stevenson says the community expects a certain response time so they are working to make sure they can keep it up.

Firefighters will be spending time away from their temporary home during peak hours to insure faster response times.

Stevenson says they will be staging in public gathering places which is a great opportunity to do public outreach.
