Man heading to prison after defrauding VA for $250K in benefits

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - 53-year-old Joseph Scott Gray, of Lawton, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for providing false statements to Veterans Affairs, engaging in a conspiracy to defraud the government, among other charges.

After a trial, the court also found Gray had committed perjury, saying the he performed “falsely testifying that his medication caused him (to) lie to VA employees and that his medication caused him to go from being unable to walk one minute to able to walk the next."
