MUSKEGON (WOOD-AM) - Trials have been delayed until next year for the guards who have been charged with involuntary manslaughter following the 2019 death of an inmate at the Muskegon County Jail.

In part, it's due to the retirement of a circuit court judge.

Paul Bulthouse suffered 18 seizures while in custody for violating his probation. He did not receive any medical help.

The guards, if convicted, could face up to 15 years in prison.
