Teen hurt, man killed in Muskegon shooting

MUSKEGON, Mich. - A shooting in Muskegon on Thursday night left one teenager injured, and a man dead.

Muskegon County dispatch said calls to a shots fired report were made at 8:45 p.m. at a residence on Amity Avenue near Fork Street. Officers arrived on scene to a 44-year-old Muskegon man who was shot in the chest. That man died from his injuries at the hospital.

They also found a 15-year-old girl who was shot in the back. The extent of her injuries are unknown, but she is said to be in stable condition.

MPD said a 39-year-old Muskegon man who is connected to the incident is in custody on unrelated charges. Anyone with information is asked to contact Muskegon police at 231.846.8477 or Silent Observer at 231.722.7463.
