Rockford library expansion will be paid for by fundraiser

The Kent District Library is working out a plan to expand the Krause Memorial Branch Library in Rockford while also lowering the millage to run the branch.

KDL Executive Director Lance Werner says the Rockford location is the most heavily trafficked branch per square foot.

The city of Rockford and Cannon, Courtland and Algoma townships are in the process of determining a plan to address the space constraints of the library.

KDL and the communities have determined they can fundraise to pay for the branch updates, however an amount has not yet been determined.
