Suspect to share location of body as part of plea deal in murder case

A Battle Creek area man will take investigators to where he dumped his girlfriend's body as part of a plea agreement.

Derek Horton pleaded no contest on Wednesday to second-degree murder.

The court says another charge will be dropped.

Battle Creek Police Department Chief Jim Blocker and Calhoun County Prosecutor David Gilbert say is they do not find Amber Griffin's body, the deal is off.

Crews had not found anything as of 6 p.m. Wednesday.
