LANSING (WOOD-AM) - Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has signed legislation that gives the state's unemployment insurance agency flexibility to stop seeking repayment from part-timers who qualified for benefits when the coronavirus pandemic hit.

Her office says the legislation resolved a conflict between state law and a federal program that provided unemployment to people who, under normal circumstances, would not have been eligible for benefits.
