Naples, FL officials forced to close beaches one week after reopening

    City officials in Naples Florida were forced to close its beaches on Sunday – just one week after reopening them – because visitors failed to follow social distancing measures meant to curb the spread of the coronavirus, officials said.

    City leaders said the beaches of Naples in Collier County were simply too crowded with beachgoers Saturday, a potential problem that Councilman Gary Price said was brought to his attention.

    Naples city officials said their decision to close beaches was made in accordance with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Gov.Ron DeSantis’ state of emergency executive order.
