BIG 3

1

A police officer was fatally shot and another was wounded while responding to a home invasion on Detroit’s West Side, late Wednesday.

The officers were searching the home for a suspect when they were shot.

2

More noise out of DC today as another round of hearings promises to bring testimony that some will cheer and others will discount. Mostly depending upon what side of the aisle they fall on.

3

The best news of the day.. maybe the whole week! Another record breaking year for our WOOD Radio Turkey Drop with Mel Trotter Ministries and Life EMS.

The goal of 1600 far surpassed by the 3,780 turkeys and equivalent in cash donations raised yesterday for the 16th year.

Thanks to Mark Oberlin and of Oberlin Group Wealth Advisors of Raymond James (Member SIPC) for a $5 / turkey match.

And a big thanks to YOU for making it all possible.

Notables

Cloudy and windy today with rain throughout the day. Drying out this weekend. High of 50

A hepatitis A outbreak in Nebraska, Indiana and Wisconsin has been traced to blackberries sold in Fresh Thyme grocery stores and federal authorities on Wednesday warned consumers in 11 states, including Michigan, against eating some berries bought from that chain.

Former "Empire" actor Jussie Smollet has filed a counterclaim against the City of Chicago, saying he was the victim of a malicious prosecution that caused humiliation and extreme distress. The city sued Smollett to cover more than $130,000 in costs from the investigation into his report of a hate crime attack. Police say he staged it all.
