WML Monday Show Notes: Professor Allan Saxe and Brad Krause

Professor Allan Saxe joins to talk about Justin Amash and President Trump, and Brad Krause of Service Professor joins to talk about maintenance during the summer months.

BIG 3

1 West Michigan Congressman, Justin Amash, says that President Trump “engaged in impeachable conduct” in a series of tweets criticizing The President, Republicans in Congress, & AG William Barr over the weekend.

Amash opened up with:

Here are my principal conclusions:

1. Attorney General Barr has deliberately misrepresented Mueller’s report.

2. President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct.

3. Partisanship has eroded our system of checks and balances.

4. Few members of Congress have read the report.

President Trump has fired back.

What did he have to say? We’ll get to that and we open up the phones and talk to you next.

2 Frost advisory in effect for Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, and Oceana counties

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down in Barry county yesterday when storms rolled through West Michigan.

It touched for only three minutes between Dowling and Maple Grove Township. Although no one was injured the tornado’s top winds were estimated around 75-80 mph.

Three barns on one farm were damaged. A telephone pole and several trees were blown down, according to NWS.

3 Graduating seniors at Morehouse College were already in a good mood. They were graduating from college, after all. Then their commencement speaker really made their day: He promised to pay off their student loans. This unbelievable act of generosity came from billionaire investor Robert F. Smith, who told the grads at the historically black college in Atlanta that he was "going to put a little fuel in your bus." The total amount covers 396 students and is worth tens of millions of dollars. Morehouse President David A. Thomas said Smith's gift will enable the graduates to have more capital to do things like start businesses and support their families. Rising student loan debt is cited by many as one of the factors contributing to income inequality in America.
