Busted pipe floods Ionia MS; district cancels classes

IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) — Ionia Public Schools says a burst pipe that flooded the middle school forced the district to cancel classes Monday.

Superintendent Ron Wilson tells 24 Hour News 8 either a hot water or plumbing line broke in the middle school sometime over the weekend. He said no one has been in the building since Saturday, so it’s unclear when the break happened, but there was 5 feet of water in the middle school as of 5:30 a.m. Monday.
