2 arrested, others wanted in cellphone store break-ins

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two 17-year-olds have been arrested in connection to a string of cellphone store robberies in Kent County while at least two other suspects are wanted.

Haracio Harris and Ziquadreon White were taken into custody Thursday along with four others at a hotel in Wyoming.

White was arraigned Friday and charged with receiving stolen cellphones and resisting and obstructing police during his arrest. Harris has yet to be formally charged.

Four others taken into custody were ultimately released due to a lack of evidence.

Late Friday afternoon, Wyoming police said Marquis Thomas, 18, was wanted for armed robbery in connection to the crimes. Police have also identified a fourth suspect who is not in custody. That suspect’s name hasn’t been released because he or she is a juvenile.

Police believe there could be even more suspects. The “core” group connected to the robberies includes six to eight people. Wyoming police said three to five people appear to be involved in each robbery. Police released surveillance footage of the additional suspects Friday.

The latest break-ins happened late Thursday night in Plainfield Township and shortly after in Wyoming — after Harris and White had been arrested.
