Local ballot issues: School funding, leadership

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — When voters go to the polls Tuesday, they'll be deciding on big races for the state Legislature, U.S. Congress and the Michigan governor's office. In West Michigan, they'll also cast ballots on a number of local issues.

Here are some of the local issues 24 Hour News 8 will be keeping an eye on:

Kent County is asking voters to approve at .25 mill proposal to fund early childhood education programs. Supporters say the funding would "help make sure Kent County children under age 5 have access to vital services that ensure they are healthy and ready to learn by kindergarten."
