Officer-involved shooting closes NB US-131; suspect in custody

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A homicide suspect is in custody after an officer-involved shooting on US-131 in Grand Rapids Thursday. 

The Grand Rapids Police Department said northbound US-131 is closed at Franklin Street due to the incident. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route. 

The homicide suspect, 33-year-old Adam Kenneth Nolin, is in custody. It's unclear if he was shot and police did not release his condition.

No officers appeared to be injured in the shooting, according to GRPD.

A witness at a nearby business told 24 Hour News 8 that the suspect may have been hit by a police cruiser then was seen being taken away in an ambulance.
