GR Uber Driver sentenced in gun case

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An Uber driver accused of pointing a gun at his passengers in Grand Rapids has been sentenced to community service time.

Christopher Johnson was sentenced Tuesday to 80 hours of community service after pleading guilty to carrying a concealed weapon in July. A count of felonious assault was dismissed under the terms of the plea deal. Johnson must complete the community service in 90 days.

In November 2017, Johnson allegedly pointed a gun at passengers and ordered them out of his car after a disagreement. The passengers told police that when they later called for another Uber, they got the same driver and there was an altercation, which was when Johnson was arrested.
