Threat sparks partial lockdown at EGR middle, high schools

EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — East Grand Rapids middle and high schools are on a partial lockdown after a high school student was threatened.

In a message to district families, East Grand Rapids Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Heidi Kattula said a family member alerted the district to the threat, which was sparked by a familial dispute. The district says the suspect is not in custody.

EGR schools says the student who was threatened has been removed from the school to ensure his safety and protect other students and staff.
