Man killed in Kalamazoo shooting overnight; no arrests

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Kalamazoo are investigating the death of a man who was shot and killed early Saturday morning.

It happened around 1:20 a.m. at the 100 block of West Stockbridge Avenue near South Burdick Street on the city's southside. 

Officers responded to reports of a man that had been shot. Officers say the found the 23-year-old man unresponsive when they arrived. 

Crews on scene say life saving measures were attempted, but were unsuccessful as the man was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. 

The victim’s name has not been released at this time.

Kalamazoo police say at this time there is no suspect information, but the investigation is ongoing.
