GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Good news drivers have been waiting to hear for some time, westbound I-96 is scheduled to reopen by 10 p.m. Thursday.
Westbound I-96 has been closed between Plainfield Avenue and US-131 since early July.
The stretch of road has been closed for bridges and road repairs for months, causing traffic headaches along the detour route all summer long.
