Stabenow talks 'buying American' during stop in GR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow spent Tuesday afternoon in West Michigan to talk about creating more business for local manufacturers.

The Democratic senator said she has introduced legislation that would require more federal government spending with companies based in the United States.

While talking to workers at Plasan, a Grand Rapids company that makes parts for military and other vehicles, she said there are too many loopholes exist in a decades-old bill that requires such government spending with American businesses and that the accountability has been lax.
