Bicyclist hospitalized after hit-and-run crash

PAW PAW TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A bicyclist was hospitalized Tuesday morning after a hit-and-run crash in Van Buren County.

It happened around 7:34 a.m. in the 6100 block of M-40 in Paw Paw Township.

Authorities said a pickup truck and a bicyclist were both traveling south on M-40 when the truck went off the road and hit the bicyclist.

After the crash, the truck left the scene but was found by a sheriff’s deputy. Authorities said the driver is cooperating with the investigation.

The bicyclist is currently in critical condition at an area hospital.
