Fisherman found in Barry Co. water dies

YANKEE SPRINGS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A fisherman is dead after being pulled from Barry County waters.

Around 12:10 a.m. Monday, Barry County sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of Kiser Road and Upton Trail in Yankee Springs Township, south of Middleville. The caller said a man wasn't breathing.

When deputies arrived, they found 70-year-old David Neeson. He died at the scene, despite attempts to revive him.

Authorities say a relative found Neeson submerged in nearby water after he didn't return home from a fishing trip that afternoon.
