Vehicle stolen in armed robbery near Kalamazoo

OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are searching for a vehicle stolen during an armed robbery near Kalamazoo Monday night.

It happened around 10 p.m. at the parking lot of the Seville Apartments near the intersection Drake Road and KL Avenue in Oshtemo Township.

The victim, a 35-year-old Battle Creek man, told Kalamazoo County sheriff’s deputies that he was approached by two men as tried to get into his vehicle. One of them took out a handgun and demanded his belongings.

The suspects were able to get away with a duffel bag and the victim’s vehicle, which is a dark blue, extended cab 2018 Dodge truck with Maryland license plate 3DD0243.

One of the suspects was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and the other was wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt. Both were wearing black pants.

The suspect left the parking lot heading west in the victim’s vehicle, deputies said.
