It's Bobby Ferguson's turn in the hot seat as a federal judge orders a sentence for corruption at Detroit city hall.
Ferguson was convicted with former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick for a raft of crimes tied to extortion, bribes and fixed contracts. The evidence showed that Kilpatrick often went to bat for his buddy Ferguson and punished contractors who didn't make room for him.
Kilpatrick was sentenced Thursday to 28 years in prison. Prosecutors are seeking a similar punishment for Ferguson on Friday, while defense attorneys are asking for no more than 10 years.
A well-known pastor, Marvin Winans, is asking the judge for leniency. He says Ferguson is trying to live ``the principles of a holy and wholesome life.''
