Kent County Residents Continue Giving More to Charity, at a Slower Rate
Posted Wednesday, November 13th 2013 @ 3am  by WOOD Radio News Team

People in Kent County gave nearly $625 million to charity in 2011.

That is an increase of about 1.5 percent, according to the GVSU Johnson Center for Philanthropy.

The report says that increase was much smaller than the nearly 9 percent jump from 2009 to 2010.

And this year's increase in giving is much lower than the current national average increase of more than 4 percent.
