Arrest in Craiglist Deal Gone Bad Over Phone

Grand Rapids police and Kent County Sheriff's deputies have their suspect from a shooting Monday night on Plainfield Avenue at a laundry near Four Mile Road.

Two people were shot  arguing over a cell phone they apparently had tried to sell on Craigslist.  Deputies said the shooter had not wanted to pay for it.

The shooter wa said tobe  14 or 15 year old boy.  

Detectives identified his home and surrounded his apartment on North Lake  Drive, north of Elmdale, not far west of the shooting scene early Tuesday morning.

The boy's mother came out first, but the suspects remained inside with a young girl identified as his sister, while police used a bullhorn to encourage him to surrender.

The neighborhood quieted down after 3:30 a.m.

One of the two who was shot in the evening is said to be in serious condition.
